Sistem Smart ZEB Merealisasikan Bangunan Rendah Karbon Selari Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan

Isu guna tenaga berlebihan dan pemanasan global akibat daripada pembebasan gas rumah hijau (GHG) yang tinggi ke atmosfera mengancam alam sekitar. Antara penyumbang kepada permasalahan ini adalah amalan penggunaan tenaga berlebihan terutamanya di sektor bangunan. Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu telah mengariskan 17 indikator Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (SDG) dengan salah satunya adalah mengurangkan pembebasan karbon menjelang tahun 2030. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mereka bentuk, membangun dan menguji Sistem Smart ZEB bagi mewujudkan kelestarian pada bangunan konvensional kepada bangunan rendah karbon. Sistem ini mengetengahkan teknologi hijau melalui aplikasi internet of things (IoT) sebagai alat memantau dan mengawal di samping penggunaan peralatan jimat tenaga dan amalan penggunaan tenaga boleh diperbaharui. Dapatan kajian mendapati lebih 76% penjimatan tenaga dan pembebasan karbon dapat dilaksanakan dengan penjimatan sebanyak 0.6% bayaran utiliti di Politeknik Mersing. Ini secara tidak langsung dapat mengekalkan kelestarian bangunan konvensional kepada bangunan rendah karbon. Pembangunan sistem ini menyokong kepada Agenda Pembangunan Mampan Negara 2030 dari elemen kemampanan ekonomi, sosial dan persekitaran yang selari dengan indikator SDG7, SDG9, SDG11, SDG13 dan SDG16
