01Aims and Scope

Aims

The Journal of Applied Accounting and Business (JAAB) publishes peer-reviewed research on the application of accounting and business practice, including accounting information systems. The journal aims to:

• disseminate applied research in accounting and business to academics, researchers, practitioners, government, and the wider public;
• provide a publication venue for studies whose methods or approaches are relevant to the practical application of accounting and business;
• welcome contributions from authors at Politeknik Jambi and at other institutions, in Indonesia and elsewhere.

Scope

JAAB accepts manuscripts in the following areas. Each manuscript is first screened by the editor for its fit with this scope before it proceeds to peer review.

02Publication Schedule

Frequency

JAAB is published twice a year, in June and December. Manuscripts accepted after peer review are scheduled for publication in the next June or December issue.

Volume and Issue Structure

Each calendar year forms one volume. The first issue, Vol. 1 No. 1, appeared in June 2019. Since Volume 2 (2020), the journal has published two issues each year.

03Ownership and Management Information

Publisher

JAAB is published by LPPM Politeknik Jambi, the Institute for Research and Community Service (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) of Politeknik Jambi, Indonesia. As publisher, LPPM provides the institutional and administrative framework for the journal. The publisher is distinct from the editorial team, which manages the scholarly content of the journal.

Editorial Management

The Board of Editors has five members, drawn from Universitas Islam Negeri Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, Universitas Jambi, Politeknik Caltex Riau, Politeknik Jambi, and Politeknik Negeri Tanah Laut. Full names, affiliations, and academic profiles are listed on the Editorial Team page. The Reviewers page lists the peer reviewers.

Roles and Responsibilities

The journal follows the code of ethics for scientific publications set out in Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014. Under this framework:

• The journal manager determines the journal's name, scientific scope, and periodicity, determines editorial board membership, ensures regular publication, and secures resources for the journal's sustainability.
• Editors implement quality-assurance processes for published papers, uphold the integrity of the scholarly record, and issue corrections or clarifications when needed.
• Reviewers evaluate manuscripts within their field of competence and keep the review confidential.
• Authors are responsible for the content of their articles and must declare that submitted work is original and not under consideration elsewhere.

Editorial Process

Submissions are handled through Open Journal Systems (OJS). The editor first screens each manuscript for its fit with the journal's scope. Manuscripts that pass screening go to double-blind peer review, in which neither reviewers nor authors know each other's identity. The relevant policies are published on these pages:
